Indian captain Rohit Sharma is often seen in a fun mood both on and off the field. The 35-year-old was once again spotted having a light conversation with one of his fans who was trying to capture him at the Visakhapatnam airport. Rohit had missed the first ODI of the ongoing three-match series against Australia due to personal reasons as he had to attend his brother-in-law’s wedding.

He flew down to Visakhapatnam, the venue for the second ODI and was coming out of the airport as people tried to capture him on their phones. Rohit spotted one of the fans trying to take a selfie with him and much to the fan’s surprise gifted him a rose. The fan was seen being extremely happy with the heart-warming gesture by the Indian captain who went on to jokingly propose to him after presenting the rose and said, “Will you marry me?”

Coming back to India vs Australia ODI series, India took a 1-0 lead in the series in Rohit’s absence as they bundled Australia out for just 188 in the first ODI. Mohammed Shami was the star with the ball who picked up 3/17 in six overs and dismantled Australia’s lower order.

Shami was well supported by Mohammed Siraj who finished with figures of 3/29 in 5.4 overs. Ravindra Jadeja also picked up 2/46 which included the crucial wicket of well-set Mitchell Marsh who scored 81 off 65 balls.

In reply, India were in all sorts of trouble at 83/5 after 19.2 overs when Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul got together at the crease. The duo got involved in a match-winning stand of 108* and took their team home in 39.5 overs winning the match by five wickets. Jadeja was awarded Player of the Match for scoring 45*(69) and picking two wickets.

India bundled out for 117 in the second ODI

Meanwhile, in the second ODI being played in Visakhapatnam, India were put in to bat by Australian captain Steve Smith. Left-arm seamer Mitchell Starc continued his brilliant form and dismantled the Indian top order once again. He picked up 5/53 in eight overs leaving India at 48/4 after this first spell.

India couldn’t recover from the poor start and were all out for 117, their lowest ODI total against Australia in India. Along with Starc, Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis also picked up three and two wickets respectively.
