Power couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma announced the merger of their respective foundations on Wednesday, March 22 and set up a new initiative named SeVVA. The star couple released a joint statement and mentioned that the agenda behind the launch of SeVVA is to help the people in dire need and is not necessarily aimed at a cause in particular.

Both Anushka and Virat are known for their philanthropic work besides their profession and have helped many people in the past with the same. Both are hopeful that their brand new initiative will help them reach out to those who are in need of help to sustain themselves and their family members.

“In the words of Kahlil Gibran ‘For in truth it is life that gives unto life- while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness’. With this sentiment in mind, we have decided to work together through SeVVA aiming to reach out to as many people as possible.

SeVVA’s work won’t be confined to a particular issue as it will continue to strive for social good by championing humanity which is the need of the hour today,” their statement read as quoted by the Times of India.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is known for providing scholarships for sports and his foundation that was earlier known as the Virat Kohli Foundation also used to spoonsor athletes. Significantly, before the merger Anushka’s foundation was called the Anushka Sharma Foundation and the actress by virtue of her foundation has been working towards animal welfare and will continue to do so.

The couple now aims to help various section of the society through their joint venture SeVVA and hope that it ends up creating a difference. Notably, Virat and Anushka alongside Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were recently seen on the red carpet of the Indian Sports Honours 2023 in Mumbai. 2023 saw the fourth edition of Indian Sports Honours.
