Pat Cummins has expressed his immense gratitude to the Barmy Army for its trumpet tribute in support of the Australian bowler’s mother Maria. The mother of Cummins is currently unwell.

After posting a video of a trumpet tribute — which has since attracted over a million views online — on Twitter, Pat Cummins took to the micro-blogging site to convey his gratefulness to the Barmy Army. The Australian bowler feels touched by the kind gesture of the Barmy Army.

The Barmy Army is the England team’s renowned fan group. Its members cheer for England around the globe.

Responding to the Barmy Army’s video for his ailing mother, the Aussie skipper on February 27 wrote: “This is amazing @TheBarmyArmy, thank you. Mum loved watching this and felt very touched.”

Cummins had to return to Australia after the second Test match against India in Delhi to be with his bed-ridden mother. Earlier, it was indicated that the fast bowler would be available for the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy but his homestay got extended.

Australia’s star batter Steve Smith will captain the Australian Test side for the Indore Test, scheduled to commence on March 1, in the absence of Pat Cummins.

Maria, the mother of Pat Cummins, recently entered palliative care. Many cricket fans around the globe are wishing her good luck and voicing support for the Australian cricketer during this emotional moment.

Meanwhile, India are currently leading the four-match Test series 2-0. Australia have a chance to level the Border-Gavaskar series if they end up winning both remaining Test matches.
