In the battle to reach the finals, Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors met in the Qualifier 2 match of CPL 2022 at Providence Stadium, Guyana early today Bangladesh time. Jamaica Tallawahs set a huge target for the opposition in the allotted 20 overs. But the great competitor Guyana Amazon Warriors could not reach the target as the scheduled 20 overs ended. As a result, they have to drop out of the series. With a win in this match, Jamaica Tallawahs entered the finals where they will face Barbados Royals. Along with this, Shamarh Brooks won the player of the match title with his amazing batting for Jamaica Tallawhas. 

Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl first and sent off the Jamaica Tallawahs to bat. Batting first, Jamaica Tallawahs were in a bad condition. The team lost 2 wickets for 16 runs. Both were caught out and left the field. Brandon King scored 6 runs off 9 balls with the help of 1 four and Kennar Lewis hit a golden duck. Then Rovman Powell and Shamarh Brooks turned the game around. They both made a partnership of 55 runs for the 3rd wicket. The Jamaican captain was caught out after the team scored 71 runs. He played great innings of 37 runs off 23 balls before leaving the field. His innings of 37 runs had 2 fours and 3 sixes. In his place, Raymon Reifer along with Shamarh Brooks took the team’s runs from 71 to 123. Raymon Reifer scored 22 runs off 22 balls with 1 four and 1 six before being dismissed by lbw. After that, they did not lose any more wickets. The runs reached 226 from 123 in 4.5 balls in the stormy batting of Shamarh Brooks and Imad Wasim. Shamarh Brooks played the astonishing innings of 109 runs off 52 balls. His innings of 109 runs were decorated with 7 fours and 8 sixes. Besides, Imad Wasim played the stormy innings of 41 runs off 15 balls. He hit 4 fours and 3 sixes to score 41 runs. In the end, they scored 226 runs with 11 runs extra. 

Romario Shepherd took 2 wickets with 43 runs in 4 overs for Guyana Amazon Warriors. Besides, Odean Smith and Imran Tahir took 1 wicket each.

In response to the target of 226 runs, the Guyana Amazon Warriors lost 8 wickets in 20 overs and stopped at 189 runs. Keemo Paul scored the most runs for them. He scored 56 runs off 37 balls, along with 7 fours and 1 six. Shai Hope scored 31 runs off 13 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Odean Smith scored 24 runs off 14 balls, Gudakesh Motie scored 22 runs off 13 balls, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 22 runs off 16 balls. Besides, captain Shimron Hetmyer 15, Paul Sterling 2, Romario Shepherd 2, and Shakib Al Hasan scored 5 runs.

Chris Green and Imad Wasim took 2 wickets each for Jamaica Tallawahs. Besides that, Mohammad Amir, Fabian Allen, Nicholson Gordon, and Rovman Powell took 1 wicket each.
