The current schedule of international cricket and domestic leagues has thrown cricketers into a frenzy. As a result, performing has also become problematic, as well as coping with the pressure of continuous play. Wanindu Hasaranga has left the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This Sri Lankan cricketer did not play PSL because of his workload and playing domestic cricket in his country.

Hasarangar was supposed to play for Quetta Gladiators in this season of PSL. But at the same time, he has a schedule for the National Super League and international cricket. This is why the star all-rounder withdrew from PSL. As a result, the franchise has confirmed that Hasaranga is not coming to the field in a Quetta Gladiators jersey.

It is known that Hasaranga did not even ask the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) for permission to play in the PSL. This was stated by the chief executive of SLC, Ashley De Silva. Regarding Hasaranga’s game, he said, “He (Hasaranga) has not asked us for a no-objection letter to play in the PSL. He will play in the National Super League. After that, he will again play the series against New Zealand.”

However, despite not playing in the PSL, De Silva said that Hasaranga would play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Lankan board officer has also given the reason for this. He said, “This year’s IPL will last two-and-a-half months. Hasaranga will play there. There is a financial aspect to his big numbers. Besides, his familiarity in the last season has increased the responsibility of playing.”

Meanwhile, without Hasaranga, Quetta Gladiators are not at an advantage. The team started the journey of the tournament with a loss. After winning the second match, the rhythm could not be sustained. Quetta, led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, tasted consecutive defeats in the next three games. Not getting Hasaranga now is a matter of suffering for the team. However, Afghanistan’s leg-spinner Qais Ahmed is playing instead.
