Crisis at its peak, Sri Lankan cricketers, are unable to go to practice

Sri Lanka’s economic and political situation is worsening day by day. The entire country is in turmoil. Meanwhile, the two-match Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka continues. However, both teams said the situation outside the field is not affecting the players.

Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne said their full focus is on field cricket. But Lankan cricketer Chamika Karunaratne suffers deep anxiety about such a critical situation. This cricketer, who is out of the national team, said that he could not go to practise regularly due to the fuel oil crisis.

Chamika told news agency ANI, ”After waiting in a long queue for two days, and luckily got petrol, I couldn’t even go to cricket practice due to the huge fuel shortage. Petrol got for 10 takas, will last 2-3 days.” This all-rounder is worried about the future of cricket in the country and the organisation of the Asia Cup in such a crisis.

Chamika also said, ”I am coming on a day when two important series and matches of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) have been announced. The Asia Cup is coming, and the LPL will also be staged this year. I don’t know what will happen, because I have to go to Colombo and various places to practise and participate in the club season. ”
