BPL 2022 – 2nd Qualifier (Chattogram Challengers vs Comilla Victorians)

Comilla Victorians have picked up a huge 7-wicket victory over Chattogram Challengers with 43 balls to spare at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur in the 2nd qualifier of BPL 2022 on Wednesday. After winning the toss and batting first, the Challengers were bowled out for 148 in 19.1 overs by the brilliant bowling of the Victorians bowlers.

Mehidy Hasan played the highest innings of 44 runs from 38 balls for the Challengers. Besides, Akbar Ali scored 33 and Zakir Hasan scored 20 runs for the team. Moeen Ali and Shohidul Islam took the maximum number of 3 wickets each for the Victorians.

Chasing an easy target of 149 runs, the Victorians lost 3 wickets and crossed the target in just 12.5 overs. For the team, Sunil Narine played a devastating inning of 57 off 16 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. In addition, Moeen and Faf du Plessis both left the field after playing an unbeaten inning of 30 runs each. Benny Howell, Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, and Shoriful Islam took one wicket each for the Challengers.

After winning this match, Comilla Victorians will face the first finalist of the tournament Fortune Barishal tomorrow. On the other hand, after losing, Chattogram Challengers have been knocked out of the tournament.

PSL 2022 – Match 23 (Multan Sultans vs Karachi Kings)

In the 23rd match of PSL 2022, Multan Sultans got a big triumph by 7 wickets with 3 balls in hand against Karachi Kings at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Kings won the toss and elected to bat first, they lost 6 wickets and collected 174 runs in 20 overs.

For the Kings, Joe Clarke top-scored with 40 off 29 balls. Sharjeel Khan scored 36 off 34 balls and Imad Wasim remained unbeaten on 32 off 16 balls for the team. Shahnawaz Dahani took the maximum number of 2 wickets for the Sultans.

Chasing a challenging target of 175 runs, the Sultans reached the port of victory after losing just three wickets in 19.3 overs. Captain Rizwan Ahmed played a great inning of 76 runs off 56 balls with 8 boundaries for the team. Besides, Shan Masood (45 off 41 balls) and Khushdil Shah (21* off 9 balls) played two effective innings in the Sultans’ victory. Mir Hamza took 2 wickets and Chris Jordan took 1 wicket for the Kings.

After winning this match, Multan Sultans still holds the top spot in the points table. On the other hand, Karachi Kings are at the bottom of the points table after losing eight matches in a row including this match.

IND vs WI (1st T20I)

Hosts India clinched a 6-wicket win in the first T20I match of the series against the visiting West Indies at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata yesterday. After losing the toss and getting to bat first, the visitors lost 7 wickets in 20 overs and scored 157 runs.

For the Caribbeans, Nicholas Pooran played the top-scoring innings of 61 off 43 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes. Kyle Mayers scored 31 off 24 balls and skipper Kieron Pollard was unbeaten on 24 off 19 balls. Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel took the maximum number of 2 wickets each for the hosts.

Chasing the target of 157 runs, India lost 4 wickets and berthed at the victory port in 18.5 overs. For the team, Rohit Sharma played a devastating innings of 40 off 19 balls. Besides, Ishan Kishan (35), Suryakumar Yadav (34*), and Venkatesh Iyer (24*) were instrumental in the team’s victory. Roston Chase took the highest number of 2 wickets for the West Indies.
