Chahal wants out as soon as the ball hits the stamp

Bells are used to determine if a ball has hit a stamp. Later, in the age of technology, sensor lights were also added. When the ball hits the stamp, the sensor lights up. But the umpire does not give out if the bells do not dislodge. Even in the modern age, Yuzvendra Chahal is not taking the dependence on falling Bells well.

A few days ago, popular Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar commented that the use of Bells in the age of technology was unnecessary. However, Chahal did not say it was completely unnecessary. He wants to be given out as soon as it hits the stamp, and bells dislodged or not. The Indian leg-spinner thinks this rule should be followed in significant cricket events.

The Bells scandal started in the ongoing IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals. On that day, spinner Chahal’s ball hit the stumps. But batsman David Warner survived because the sensor lit up, but the bells did not dislodge. And then the debate started. A few days after the incident, the victim, Chahal, talked about this.

The Rajasthan leg-spinner said, “If there is a big event or a final match at a crucial time in the match, then we can do it. If the ball hits the wicket, it should be given out. If out is not declared in case of not dislodging the bells, it can suffer you. It affects me. “

When that happened with Chahal, Warner was batting with 22 runs. Surviving, the Australian opener played an unbeaten innings of 52 off 41 balls. And Delhi picked up an easy victory. If Warner had been dismissed by Chahal that day, the match’s outcome could have been different.

In this context, Chahal said, ”What happened to me for the first time? I was shocked. Because, even though the ball hit the wicket, Bells did not fall. If that happens at a crucial time in the match, especially for a batsman like Warner. So, if he had been given out, the match’s outcome could have been different.”
