Australia will play a three-match T20 series in India before the start of the T20 World Cup. And Australia will use the IPL experience to win the match in this series. Australian Test captain Pat Cummins hopes so.
Australian cricketers play for various IPL franchises. And so, they have experience playing on Indian soil. Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins want to use this experience.
Stepping on Indian soil, Cummins said, “It is always difficult to play in Indian conditions. Moreover, as a team, Team India is stronger in their conditions. But we also have the experience of playing on Indian soil. We have played many matches in IPL. This experience of playing matches will help us well. Planning with experience of playing in IPL, so that we can fulfill the target of winning the series.”
Both teams are considering this series as a preparation before the T20 World Cup. Kohli and Co will enter the field again with this series after the collapse of the Asia Cup. Bumrah, Harshal Patel have already returned to the team after recovering from injury. However, Cummins is looking forward to playing in India for the first time after Corona.
He said, “First time in India after Covid. I am looking forward to playing in front of a packed audience. People are very excited about cricket here. I hope the field in Mohali will be full. It seems like billions of people are watching the game. We are eagerly waiting to play.”
Kohli returned to great form in the last Asia Cup. Australians are also worried about him. About Kohli, Cummins said, “I have seen Kohli score hundreds. He is a great cricketer. At one time, Virat must find the right rhythm. Now he will give us a big test.”
Note that the first match of this three-match series will be held on Tuesday in Mohali. The 2nd and 3rd matches will be played on September 23 and 25 in Nagpur and Hyderabad respectively.
