The cricketing world is floating in a sea of ​​mourning over the recent deaths of Shane Warne and Rod Marsh. Aussie star Andrew Symonds, one of the best all-rounders in cricket, has died in a tragic road accident.

Symonds was driving in Queensland. According to preliminary information provided by police, the vehicle was travelling on Hervey Range Road around 11 pm. The car overturned while taking a left turn near Alice River Bridge. Attempts were made to rescue the 46-year-old Australian cricketer and his lone passenger. But making attempts unsuccessful, Symonds died there. He died of severe injuries and excessive bleeding.

He was 46 years old at the time of his death. Symonds, who made his debut in the Aussie jersey in 1998, has played 26 Tests, 198 ODIs and 14 Twenty20 Internationals for Australia. He also won the World Cup twice.

The whole cricket world is mourning his death. News of the death of a third Australian cricketer has come this year. Cricket Australia chairman Lalchan Henderson confirmed the news of his death, saying: “Australia has lost one of the best cricketers of all time. Andrew was a very talented cricketer who helped make Australia’s World Cup success and enriched Queensland’s cricketing history. “

Everyone is shocked by the sudden death of Symonds. Mourning is spreading through social media. Adam Gilchrist, a former colleague and fellow commentator, wrote, “Unbearable pain! ” Jason Gillespie, another former Symonds teammate, tweeted: ”Shocking news! I’m totally devastated. We will all miss you friend. ”

Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar also said he was “devastated” by the news of Andrew’s sudden death. ”We had great relationships on and off the field. My condolences and prayers to the family of Andrew, ” tweeted Shoaib.

In 1995, he was selected for the England team but refused the offer to play. He made his Australian debut three years later. He could have played for England if he wanted to. He has played 198 ODIs, scored 5088 runs in this format, over 40. He has scored 6 centuries at a strike rate of 92. Has taken 133 wickets. 

Symonds was once an integral part of Australia’s ODI team. Despite playing less Tests and T20s, he took himself to another level by playing ODIs.
