UAE vs BAN (1st T20I) – Highlights

Bangladesh has started the T20I series with a win at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh secured a thrilling 7-run win in the first of the two-match T20I series against the United Arab Emirates.

Batting after losing the toss on Sunday (September 25), Afif Hossain’s career-best 77 runs and skipper Nurul Hasan’s 35-run innings took Bangladesh to a fighting total of 158 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, the hosts came to bat but did not succeed in the end. UAE managed to score 151 runs before being all out in the last over.

Batting first, Bangladesh fell into disaster at the beginning. No top-order batsman could score big. The opening partnership of Sabbir Rahman and Mehidy Hasan failed completely. Sabbir got out without scoring any runs in the second over of the innings. Mehidy scored 12 runs off 14 balls. Despite getting a good start, Liton Das was dismissed for just 13 runs.

Yasir Ali also returned from injury but his batting failure continues. He was bowled by Karthik Meiyappan after scoring 4 runs off 7 balls. As a result, the visitors lost 4 wickets for 47 runs. As Mosaddek Hossain (3 from 8 balls) could not do well after that, Bangladesh lost 5 wickets for 77 runs and was in danger. From there, the unbreakable duo of Afif and Nurul guided the team to get a fighting capital.

On this day, Afif brought a challenging collection to the team with great batting. He was promoted up in the batting order. Afif seemed to play comfortably around the wicket. The new poster boy of Bangladesh cricket remained unbeaten on 77 runs hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes in 55 balls. Captain Nurul gave worthy support to Afif. He scored 35 runs off 25 balls with 2 fours and sixes.

Karthik Meiyappan took the highest number of 2 wickets for the team. Besides, Sabir Ali, Afzal Khan, and Zawar Farid took 1 wicket each.

The United Arab Emirates made a good start in reply. Opener Muhammad Waseem (15) returned to the dressing room with a pair of 27 runs in the opening. However, the hosts were responding well with the bat of another opener, Chirag Suri and Aryan Lakra.

Mehidy Hasan broke this pair in the eighth over and brought Bangladesh back into the match. Chirag became Mehidy’s victim by scoring 39 runs off 24 balls. He had 7 fours in his innings. In his next over, Mehidy also sent back Lakra to the dugout. The United Arab Emirates was knocked out of the match by the dismissal of two batters.

Then, wicket-keeper batsman, Vriitya Aravind became Mehidy’s third victim by scoring 16 runs. However, Afzal Khan and Junaid Siddique were showing dreams of victory for the hosts. They needed 11 runs from the last over to win. But coming to the last over, Shoriful took the last two wickets of Emirates with two consecutive balls. Afzal scored 25 runs off 17 balls.

For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan took 3 wickets for 17 runs in 3 overs. Apart from Mehidy, Shoriful Islam took three wickets with 21 runs. Besides, Mustafizur Rahman took 2 wickets.

Bangladesh won the first of the two-match T20I series and took a 1-0 lead. Tomorrow, Tuesday (27th September) these two teams will face each other at the same time and same venue in the 2nd and last match of the series.

IND vs AUS (3rd T20I) – Highlights

Australia and India met in the 3rd match of the three-match T20 series yesterday. Batting first in that match, Cameron Green and Tim David’s stormy batting helped Australia to set up a big target. But India reached the target very easily due to the excellent batting of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav in chasing that target. As a result, Australia had to leave the field with a defeat. With that, India took the series away with them. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav won the Man of the Match title with great batting and Axar Patel won the Man of the Series title with great bowling.

India won one of the first two matches, and Australia won the other. The last match, therefore, stood as the winner decider. Whoever wins this match will win the series. India and Australia went down to play such a match.

India captain Rohit Sharma invited Australia to bat first after winning the toss in this match. Then the bowlers quickly picked up three wickets at the start of batting. They lost Aaron Finch, Steven Smith, and Glenn Maxwell. Finch 7, Smith 9, and Maxwell took 6 runs.

But in the meantime, opener Cameron Green batted at a blistering pace and went back to the dressing room. He scored 52 runs in just 21 balls. He hit 7 boundaries and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 247.61.

Josh Inglis scored 24 runs off 22 balls with 3 fours. Tim David made 54 runs off 27 balls. His innings of 54 runs had 2 fours and 4 sixes. Daniel Sams scored 28 runs off 20 balls with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes. Besides, Matthew Wade scored 1 run in 3 balls and Pat Cummins hit a golden duck. In the end, Australia collected 186 runs after losing 7 wickets with 5 extra runs.

Axar Patel took 3 wickets for India. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal took 1 wicket each.

The target was 187 runs, but India did not get off to a good start when batting first in reply. Batting for a target of 187 runs, they lost 2 wickets in 3.4 overs for 30 runs. Lokesh Rahul 1 and Rohit Sharma were out for 17 off 14 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. Then Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav made the pair. They made an impeccable pair of 104 runs. Yadav got out after scoring 69 runs off 36 balls. He hit 5 boundaries and a six.

Virat Kohli returned to his form in the Asia Cup. He celebrated his return with a half-century and a century. He maintained that consistency at home against Australia as well. Although he did not do well in the first two matches against the Aussies, his bat really shined in the last match. Virat Kohli made 63 runs off 48 balls. His innings were studded with 3 boundaries and 4 sixes.

Basically relying on the bats of these two batsmen of the top order, India easily passed the challenge of 186 runs thrown by Australia. Hardik Pandya scored 25 runs off 16 balls in the last minute. Then India reached the target of victory in 19.5 overs.

PAK vs ENG (4th T20I) – Highlights

Chasing the target of 167 runs set by Pakistan in a nail-biting match in Karachi on Sunday (September 25), England’s innings collapsed after losing all wickets for 163 runs in 19.2 overs. By winning this match, the hosts returned to the seven-match T20I series with a 2-2 tie.

But the English were supposed to win this match and go ahead in this series by 3-1. Liam Dawson, who came down to bat at number eight, was supposed to be the hero of the match. England needed 54 runs to win from 34 balls when Harry Brook returned to the dugout after Moeen Ali. David Willey and Liam Dawson are both bowlers, who were at the crease then. As a result, Pakistan’s victory was assured.

But Dawson came to the wicket and played very monstrous innings. When Willey returned to the dressing room with 11 runs off 10 balls, the English still needed 37 runs off 21 balls to win. Dawson was at the crease with 6 runs from 6 balls. Adil Rashid entered the field to accompany him. Leaving him at the other end, Dawson continued to hit Mohammad Hasnain for boundaries and over boundaries in the 18th over of the innings.

He picked up 23 runs in the first four balls including a no-ball. He returned to the striking end by taking a single from the last ball of the over. Despite failing to capitalize on the first ball of the next over, Dawson almost ensured the team’s victory by hitting Haris Rauf for a boundary on the second ball. The players’ faces were happy in the English dressing room.

But it was the next ball that caused the problem. Dawson was caught at midwicket while he tried to hit a boundary off Harris’s bounced delivery and the team needed 5 runs to win from 10 balls. Dawson, who scored 23 runs in the previous 10 matches, scored 34 runs in 17 balls with 5 fours and a six in this match.

Olly Stone was bowled out on the very next ball of his departure. The fate of the match was still swinging in both directions. But Reece Topley was run out at the non-strike end while rushing to take a run in the last over. Pakistan left the field with an incredible victory of 3 runs with that.

Earlier, Ben Duckett scored 33 from 24 balls, Harry Brook scored 34 from 29 balls and Moeen Ali scored 29 from 20 balls for England on the failures’ day of the top order. Haris Rauf was selected as the player of the match for Pakistan scalping 3 wickets at the cost of 32 runs. Apart from this, Mohammad Nawaz took 3 wickets, Mohammad Hasnain 2, and Mohammad Wasim Jr took 1 wicket.

On this day, Pakistan became the first team in cricket history to play 200 international T20 matches. Pakistan has won 122 of these matches. India is second on this list. India won 116 out of 182 games played.

After losing the toss and batting first, Pakistan collected 166 runs, losing 4 wickets courtesy of Mohammad Rizwan’s 88 runs. Rizwan completed his innings by hitting 9 fours and six off 67 balls. Besides, Babar Azam scored 36 runs off 28 balls. Shan Masood scored 21 off 19 balls and Asif Ali scored 13 off 3 balls.

Reece Topley took the highest number of 2 wickets with 37 runs for the English side. Besides, Liam Dawson and David Willey took one wicket each. The two teams will meet in the 5th match of the series next Wednesday (September 28) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

PAK vs ENG (3rd T20I) – Highlights

England has defeated the hosts, Pakistan by 63 runs in the third match of the seven-match T20I series. Batting first in Karachi on Friday (September 23), England lost only 3 wickets and got a huge total of 221 runs. In response, Pakistan’s innings stopped at 158 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.

In the previous match, England batted first and set a huge target of 200 runs in front of Pakistan. But Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan together crossed this target without losing any wicket. Pakistan looked to take advantage of batting later once again after chasing that world record runs.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam invited England to bat first after winning the toss. Batting first, the English lost only three wickets and secured a huge capital of 221 runs. However, the visitors lost opener Philip Salt (8) in the third over after coming down to bat. After that, Dawid Malan returned with 14 runs from 15 balls in the seventh over.

By then the debutant Will Jacks raised a storm, scoring 40 runs off 22 balls with 8 fours. Jacks returned while the team’s total was 82 runs, and England did not lose any more wickets after that. Ben Duckett and Harry Brook put on an unbeaten 139 off 69 balls for the 4th wicket partnership. Ben Duckett picked up his first career fifty. In the end, he scored an unbeaten 69 off 42 balls with 8 fours and 1 six.

Babar Azam’s team had to rewrite their highest run chase record to win the match chasing a target of 222 runs. Eventually, that did not happen as Pakistan lost Babar and Rizwan early. Both Babar and Rizwan, the heroes of the previous two matches, returned to the dressing room with scoring 8 runs.

Back in international cricket after eight months, Babar could not play Mark Wood’s 95-mile bouncer properly. He was caught on the boundary line. Rizwan returned after being bowled by Reece Topley. Haider Ali (3) got back with Wood’s short ball. Another batsman Iftikhar Ahmed got out after scoring 6 runs. As a result, the hosts lost 4 wickets within 28 runs and were knocked out of the match.

Mohammad Nawaz (19 from 21 balls) and Khushdil Shah (29 from 21 balls) could not take their innings well forward. Shan Masood, who debuted in T20I cricket in the current series, fought alone. However, that fight only narrowed the gap. He left the field with an unbeaten 66 off 40 balls, with 3 fours and 4 sixes.

For England, Mark Wood scalped the maximum number of 3 wickets with 25 runs in 4 overs. Besides, Adil Rashid took 2 wickets, and Sam Curran and Reece Topley took 1 wicket each.

PAK vs ENG (2nd T20I) – Highlights

Pakistan got a dominating win chasing the massive target of 200 runs set by England. With a record pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, they secured a remarkable 10-wicket win with three balls in hand. With this victory, Pakistan returned to the series with a 1-1 tie, which features 7 T20I matches.

Batting first in the second T20I of the series in Karachi on Thursday, England scored 199 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.

England got off to a good start after winning the toss and batting first. Two openers Philip Salt and Alex Hales picked up 42 runs in 5 overs, England was on the way to getting a good base. However, Shahnawaz Dahani’s two balls in a row changed the picture. Alex Hales, who had scored a fifty in the previous match, was bowled out for 26 off 21 balls, and Dawid Malan returned for no runs in the next ball.

Ben Duckett played Pakistan’s two spinners Usman Qadir and Mohammad Nawaz well to increase the run rate. The left-handed batsman scored 37 runs off 18 balls in the deliveries of these two spinners while he scored 43 runs from 22 balls in the innings. His sweep and the reverse sweep were effective on such wickets. Harry Brook then scored 31 runs off 19 balls.

However, the main achievement behind taking England to 199 was the captain Moeen Ali’s knock. Khushdil Shah dropped his easy catch for 32 runs, then Moeen played an unbeaten innings of 55 runs off 23 balls. For Pakistan, Shahnawaz Dahani and Haris Rauf took 2 wickets each and Mohammad Nawaz took 1 wicket. All five England batsmen were bowled out.

England’s score of 199 seemed more than enough on a slow, low wicket in Karachi. However, Babar and Rizwan made a strong foundation for the team’s victory by scoring 87 runs in the first 10 overs. England was still ahead, especially when Pakistan’s middle order has also been in question recently. But Babar & Rizwan had some different plans on their minds.

Babar hit Luke Wood for his first six of the innings in the 11th over, after which they continued to hit boundaries at regular intervals. Babar and Rizwan’s confidence grew gradually when the ball began to skid under the floodlights. Rizwan got life in between 23 and 32 runs, England missed the opportunity to break the pair.

The two, however, never looked back. Rizwan completed his fifty in 30 balls and Babar in 39 balls. However, the Pakistan captain picked up the speed after the fifty and completed his century in 62 balls. It means that he played only 23 balls to go from fifty to century.

Babar and Rizwan also took on one of the best spinners of the time, Adil Rashid, the leg spinner gave 34 runs in 3 overs. Moeen came to bowl an over and gave 21 runs. Babar and Rizwan, both were excellent on the front leg side and square, they scored most of the runs through that area.

Then in the 18th over of the innings, Babar Azam roared with a leap and reached the non-strike side of the wicket by pushing Sam Curran’s ball to the off side. A look of relief appeared on his face. Feckless Babar in the Asia Cup responded to everything with a brilliant century against England. The Pakistan captain reached three figures on that shot off Curran.

Babar’s record century and his unbroken 203-run opening partnership with Mohammad Rizwan put Pakistan on the brink of victory. Babar-Rizwan’s run chase is now the highest in T20Is. The previous record was held by both of them, last year against South Africa they made an unbroken partnership of 197 runs. It is also a record run chase against England.

Besides, Babar became the first Pakistan batsman to score multiple T20I centuries. He eventually played an unbeaten innings of 110 runs off 66 balls, which included 11 fours and 5 sixes. On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten with 88 runs off 51 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Today, these two teams will meet at the same time and same venue in the 3rd match of the series.
