Rovman Powell’s Jamaica defeated Kyle Myers’ Barbados by 8 wickets in the final of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Saturday. Barbados Royals have been blown away by a Brandon King’s storm. Shamarh Brooks gave him worthy support in the run chase. As a result, Jamaica passed the challenging target of 162 runs with 23 balls in hand.
Barbados Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first and sent off the Jamaica Tallawahs to bowl. Batting first, the two openers Rahkeem Cornwall and Kyle Myers did not make a bad start. Rahkeem scored 36 off 21 balls with the help of 2 fours and 4 sixes. And Myers returned to the pavilion with 29 runs off 19 balls with the help of 6 fours.
However, Azam Khan’s 51 from 40 balls gave Barbados big oxygen. His innings had 4 fours and 3 sixes. Besides, Jason Holder scored 17 off 19 balls. However, none of the rest could reach double digits.
